A man can be expert in nothing, but he must be practiced in many things. Skills. You don't have to master them all at once. You simply have to collect and develop a certain number of skills as the years tick by. People count on you to come through. That's why you need these, to start.

I am not hip enough to read Esquire regularly, but some guy sent a link to this article. Interesting stuff - skills you should have if you're a guy.

I disagree with #56 though ... being able to create a playlist of 10 songs so you can send a secret message to someone. That's probably romantic, but wouldn't it work better if I just asked the woman, "do you really want me to gift you a CD with 10 songs on it or just tell you how I feel about you?"

Like they say, don't believe everything you read.

Hey, I learned a coupla things! I particularly agree with #s 2, 8, 22, 52 and 74. Some others a bit too US-based for me to get why they would be so important.

Wait, I know this perfume .... :p

Wassup. Yeah, it's all just typical magazine hogwash. Agree with your numbers!

The only real skills I've ever needed are:

1. apply shave foam and brush my teeth at the same time
2. shower, splash on deo, wear an office shirt without opening the buttons, under three minutes
3. tie a neck tie on the train and comb my hair in the office elevator
